Loi Meublés 2026: Why Your Airbnb Listing Might Be Blocked
Since 2026, French authorities share data directly with Airbnb and Booking.com. Without a valid registration number, your listing faces automatic blocking. Here's what to do.
French authorities now have a direct data link with Airbnb and Booking.com. Here's why your listing could be blocked — and how to prevent it.

French authorities now have a direct data-sharing agreement with major rental platforms including Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo. This means that any property listed without a valid registration number is automatically flagged and calendar-blocked.
What changed in 2026?
The Loi Meublés 2026 introduced three critical new requirements for short-term rental owners in France:
A mandatory 13-digit National Registration ID from your local Mairie
A valid DPE energy rating (minimum grade E to rent legally)
Automatic platform reporting of rental income directly to French tax authorities
What does "calendar blocking" mean?
If your registration number is missing or invalid, rental platforms are legally required to block your availability calendar — meaning guests cannot book your property until the issue is resolved. For non-resident owners, resolving this remotely and in French can take weeks or months.
The financial impact
Lost bookings during peak summer season can represent thousands of euros in lost revenue. Combined with potential fines of up to €10,000, non-compliance is a serious financial risk.
What you need to stay listed
